History

April 1, 1947 - A date that made history ...

The Continental hotel was leased on 1 April 1947 by Niklaus and Josephine Weibel-Lipp and purchased in 1954. With tireless, entrepreneurial dedication and personal and financial sacrifices, the Weibel-Lipp couple built the hotel into a thriving business. The foundation stone for today's operation was laid.

On April 15, 1973, Gabriele and Ruth Pedrazzetti-Weibel (29 and 23 years old) entered the family business. Together with their parents they managed the Continental hotel, which was renamed in the winter of 1973/1974 to the Continental Park hotel.

Josy Weibel had to retire in 1980 from his beloved profession for health reasons. In 1988, Gabriele and Ruth Pedrazzetti-Weibel took over the management of the entire company and founded the Continental Luzern AG. This step set the course for financial and legal restructuring. On 1 December 1994, the renaming of the CONTINENTAL-PARK HOTEL was celebrated with an "opening bang" or "Festa d'apertura". The dash between Continental and Park expresses the connection to the unity of the historic park with the new Continental, city center with green space.

On 1 January 2011, the third generation, Alessandro and Manuela Pedrazzetti, took over the Continental Park hotel family business. Today, the Continental Park hotel is a modern hotel with style, characterized by personal commitment and warmth.
A family business with international standards for corporate and conference guests, frequent travelers with or without children, city travelers, weekend tourists and sports enthusiasts.

Alessandro and Manuela Pedrazzetti and their team welcome you to the Continental Park hotel and wish you an unforgettable stay in Lucerne.
